Hello to the Last Teenage Year!

July 23, 2015

Birthdays are the celebrations almost everyone was excited to come. All of us know it happens once in a year, except if you put a different date on your birth certificate which is not from your original birth date like Choi Siwon (hi oppa! hihi). But, technically, it is celebrated once a year.

Last July 20, 2015, I celebrated my 19th birthday. It only means that it is my last year of being a teenager. It is the last year of being out of this world. What do I mean? A lot of people say that when you’re a teenager, you are too old to play games yet too young to join adults’ conversation. And I guess, that is the main reason why teenagers try to search for themselves through academics, family, and friends.

So, as I was saying, I celebrated my birthday. At first, I removed my birthday on Facebook just to check the people who really know my birthday. I was kinda disappointed because the people I am expecting to greet me never did. But anyway, I guess that is life. There were some people who greeted me and I guess, they are really the people worth keeping. (Hi guys! You know who you are!)

Last July 17, 2015, just 3 days before my birthday, I have decided to go to SM Dasma to buy a new phone since my phone is been with me for 6 years and it is quite saying goodbye already haha. So, I asked my cousin, Rio, to accompany me since she also bought her new phone at the said mall. A lot of people have been saying that the latest release of Asus, the Zenfone 2, is a phone worth buying. And because it fits my budget, I decided to buy it.

It is an early birthday gift for myself. (I would like to say thanks for mom and dad for adding additional money on my savings so I can buy it! Yay!)

Now, I’ll be able to capture better photos since its camera is good especially on low light.

A few days later, July 19, a day before my birthday, my family and some church friends celebrated my birthday. We had an early celebration since I have classes the next day and I have to leave the house to stay at the dorms. And on that time, they cooked some foods. It wasn’t actually an extravagant party. It’s just a simple get-together and eat-together. And this is the kind of celebration I want.

With all these foods, we were so full and satisfied. Thank you Ate Joy for cooking all of these and thank you Coco for the cake! It really satisfied our physical hunger.

The day then came. July 20. I went back to Elbi because I still have my classes. But, as life always say, good things don’t always happen. Something, not really terrible, happened (I will no longer narrate it.) that made me quite frustrated and unable to focus on things. I was so down at that moment that I really wanted to celebrate my birthday to ease the sadness. So, I immediately texted my college friends. Unfortunately, some of them responded that they won’t be able to come and only three responded, “yes”. Even if we are not complete, I decided to treat them for dinner and have some moments with them.

We decided to eat at Cocina, just under the SU Building in UPLB. The place is really good since it is full of musical things, CDs, instruments, posters, and even the menu has something music in it. If you want to order the big one, then you’ll say Major, if not, Minor. It is honestly my first time eating there.

So, I was with my friends, Joseph, Shane, (who both were with me during EK!) and Danielle or I usually call her Tiway because her last name is Ty.

The food were quite expensive for an average meal but still, it was worth it. We have different orders so we can have a taste of their different menus. Yes, by just simply eating together, I am already happy. At least, I have lessen the sadness I felt. And I thank them for that!

This is what I ordered, the American pork ribs.

But my birthday celebration did not end there. What do I mean? I still have my post-celebration and this time, it’s with my childhood besties. We have known each other for years and our friendship is still growing strong.

July 23, 2015, my childhood besties, Jeorgia and Nicole came to our house and we had some small chats and we even cooked together (actually, they were the only one who cooked. I only did the crushing of the oreo. Haha) It has been a year since we last saw each other and definitely we had a lot of things to tell.

We decided to cook french fries with some nachos and cappuccino oreo drink. Here is the final product.

Yummy!

While eating, we took pictures and stuffs. We also talked about and laughed so hard with each others’ jokes. It was really a long time since I laughed like that. We even have a toss.

Cheers to my post celeb birthday and Jeorgia’s pre-celeb birthday!

Of course, the excitement won’t be enough if we won’t take a picture of our silliness.

It was indeed a great day especially when you are with your special friends. We really missed each other so much. <3

By having these celebrations, I would really like to thank God for giving me these people in my life. They are not perfect, they may not always be there beside me, but I know, I will always have a place in their hearts. This birthday celebration ain’t the most extravagant but it will surely be one of the most memorable one.

Thank You Lord for giving me another year. *breathes deeply* Hello, last teenage year!

P.S. Thank you for all the people who greeted me, whether from the Philippines or not, through text, call, or facebook and by any means. Thank you!
